PC Desktop Repairs
Common hardware failures
Here are the most common hardware failures you may
experience. The good news is, unlike laptops, any part in a desktop PC can be replaced, and therefore we are able in
all cases to bring your computer back to normal. Actually we are so confident in being able to fix it that we offer
a No FIX - No FEE policy on the PC Desktop Repairs.(subject to conditions)
Please call us on : 020 8882 7293
If your computer doesn't start at all when you push the On/Off
button, no light or noise coming out of it, or starting and cutting off, or showing flashing leds at the front
face, chances are that your power supply is faulty. The only way to fix a power supply problem is to replace it.
Never attempt to open it yourself. A PSU, even unplugged contains High Voltage components that may seriously harm
you. We will be able to replace it for you in less than an hour, and provide a guarantee for this
repair.
If your computer screen is displaying less colors than usual, a
puzzled picture or dots and lines all over the place, or if you get a warning message saying that the resolution is
unsupported, or no picture at all, chances are that your graphic card is faulty. Again, the only cost effective way
to fix the problem is by replacing the part. We can replace it for you, according to your needs, the power of your
computer, the type of card required for your motherboard, install the necessary software and drivers, and provide a
guarantee for this repair.
| Dust accumulation /
Overheating |
|
This picture wouldn't need any further explanation!!! Dust
accumulation can create shorts on the motherboard, multiple electrostatic discharges, weakening connections and
cause overheating leading to a fried processor. Again, do not attempt to clean it yourself, as touching components
may harm you or the component itself, do not "hoover it " either. Taking all necessary precautions and using the
right tools, we will be able clean your computer "as a whistle" in less than an hour.
The RAM (Random Access Memory) is one of the most important
components in your computer.(This is not where your documents, pictures and music are located).
Associated to the processor, the RAM gives you power and speed when you start the
computer, load or unload programs etc... If it becomes faulty, it may cause blue screens, crash and restarts,
freezings, or you might not see anything at all on the screen. We are able to detect a faulty RAM stick or faulty
slot/memory controller and take appropriate action.
If your computer is constantly On, in a dusty environment, or
older than 2 or 3 years, the moving parts, such as fans start to become noisy and disturbing. There are usually 3
fans in a desktop computer.
-The processor / heatsink fan
-The power supply fan
-The chassis fan(s).
They can be replaced and make your computer quiet again. Why not planning it along a
"midlife" service and cleaning. It sure will give your PC a second life, and peace of mind to
you.
Finally, the hard drive is the most important part in a
computer. Everything else can be replaced but your data can't, and the hard drive is where your data: pictures,
music, home work, email contacts, personal documents etc, is located.
If it fails, and it will... your data may be definitively lost.
We advise to backup regularly all your data on a separate, external Hard Drive or
memory stick or other media. If the worse happens, we can still attempt to scan and recover it for you, but the
best is to backup preventively.
The motherboard is the main Printed Circuit Board, holding many
of the crucial components of the system. Over time, some components values may vary, dry solders and bad
connections may appear, causing the computer to crash or to behave oddly. This is obviously a major problem on a
computer but we are used to do such repair everyday, and will be able to provide you with a 1 year
guarantee.
